The Melbourne round of the Australian Supercross Championship at Marvel Stadium is one of Protraxx’s most complex and demanding annual builds — and one we are incredibly proud to deliver year after year for Australian Motorcycle Enterprises (AME).

In addition to Australian Supercross, Protraxx has also designed and constructed the supercross track at Marvel Stadium for World Supercross (WSX), reinforcing the venue as one of the most technically challenging indoor supercross builds in Australia.

A Build Defined by Precision and Planning

From initial design through to construction and final bump-out, the Marvel Stadium project requires meticulous planning and execution. Due to the stadium’s underground carpark, the track must be built exclusively using smaller, lightweight machinery, with strict weight limits enforced across the venue floor.

To safely support the track, extensive structural preparation is undertaken, including the installation of approximately 7,000 Acro props and 3,000 railway sleepers beneath the floor to distribute load and protect the stadium infrastructure. Every element of the track design is engineered with these constraints in mind.

48 Hours. No Margin for Error.

The entire project operates within an intense 48-hour window, covering full build, race readiness, and post-event bump-out. Dirt is imported and removed with absolute precision, with approximately 621 truckloads of material transported in and out of the venue by Starbucks Transport to meet the tight schedule.

Despite the logistical and technical challenges, the Protraxx team thrives on the demands of this build. It is one of the most rewarding projects on our calendar, pushing our design, planning, and execution capabilities to the highest level.
