Australian Supercross track build – Rounds 1 & 2 Redcliffe, Queensland 2025

Protraxx was proud to deliver the Round 1 and Round 2 track builds of the Australian Supercross Championship at Redcliffe, kicking off the season with two action-packed nights of racing.

Despite facing challenging conditions throughout the build and event, the rounds proved to be a huge success for riders, teams, and spectators alike.

Hot weather combined with a rich red dirt base presented one of the biggest challenges of the weekend. While ideal for shaping, this soil type can hard-pack extremely quickly if not managed correctly.

Recognising this early, Josh Proctor, Director of Protraxx, made a key decision during the build process — leaving the track tracked in, rather than fully sealed and finished, throughout practice and qualifying.

This approach allowed the Protraxx team to introduce and retain as much moisture as possible in the surface ahead of the night show.

At first, the decision caused understandable concern among riders, with questions raised about how the track would perform once racing began. However, those concerns were quickly put to rest after the first practice session, with riders praising the track’s consistency, grip, and race-ability.

Thanks to this strategic call and the relentless efforts of the crew, the Protraxx team was able to successfully build and maintain a track that delivered close racing, held up through demanding conditions, and was enjoyed by both riders and fans across both rounds.

A huge thank you goes to our hardworking crew who put in the long hours round after round to make this event track build possible.

We’d also like to thank Australian Motorcycle Enterprises (AME) and their team for once again placing their trust in Protraxx to deliver championship-level tracks year after year.
